Welcome to the New Library Webpage
The Emma King Library is a great place to sign out a book and be inspired. The library offers space for students to come and learn about new things, hear a story and use technology. There are several computers for students to use and a Smart Board to help engage student learning.
Battle of the Books Club
The Battle of the Books team is once again up and running. This is a great reading club for students in grades 4-8 to be a part of. The students on the team read as many books as they can from the official list put out by the Barrie Public Library. See the link below for more details. http://www.library.barrie.on.ca/children/programmes/bob.htm
In order to compete in the Battle of the Books competition the team needs to read over 240 books. We are looking for the following books to be donated to the library for the competition:
1. Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card
2. Our Only May Amelia by Jennifer Holm
3. In Spite of Killer Bees by Julie Johnston
4. The Other Side of Truth by Beverley Naidoo

Fall Book Fair
Our first book fair of the year took place from September 29-30. The book fair ran on both days from 9am until 4pm and during the Meet the Teacher evening from 5:30-7pm in the library. There were lots of great books for sale: fiction and non-fiction. Many families came out to support our school. We sold about $3400 worth of books. Thanks to these great sales we were able to buy $850 worth of books from the book fair.
